Treaty on Open Skies
The Treaty on Open Skies of 1992 was initially concluded by negotiations between the Member States of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Subsequently other States became members, including Finland and Sweden. The Treaty entered into force in 2002 and allows lights of unarmed aircraft over the entire territory of the States Parties. It is a confidence building measure that provides transparency in military matters.
