Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT)

The Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism (GICNT) is G-8 initiative adopted tin 2006 against the danger of nuclear weapons being used to commit terrorist acts. It covers the construction of nuclear weapons, transport of nuclear material, use of nuclear weapons etc. Participation in the initiative comprises a political obligation on behalf of the Member States. Iceland became a member in 2007.
