Humanitarian Law

International humanitarian law concerns rules that aim at limiting the consequences of armed conflict for humanitarian reasons. The law protects individuals who are not parties to or no longer participate in the conflict and limits the ways and procedures of warfare. International humanitarian law is also known as the aws of war or laws of armed conflict.

International Agreements which ban weapons of mass destruction and certain conventional weapons, including anti-personnel mines and cluster munitions, are a part of humanitarian law.
