Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Hague undertakes the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993. The Organisation was established in 1997. Member States are 187 (April 2009). The Organisation's aim is to attain the objectives of the Convention, oversee its enforcement and create a forum for cooperation and consultation between the Member States.
