Mr. President,

Iceland welcomes the delegation of Rwanda and its national report.

In the spirit of constructive engagement, Iceland recommends the following:

1. Decriminalize and legalize abortion in all circumstances.
2. Protect and promote sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and ensure access to SRHR services across the country.
3. Eliminate child marriage nationwide.
4. Ensure universal access to comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) in and out of school settings.
5. Adopt comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation that explicitly prohibits discrimination against persons of diverse SOGIESC.
6. Adopt a legal gender recognition process allowing transgender persons to change their name and gender marker on all identity documents through a simple, administrative, self-determination-based process.
